Been playing golf for 50 years and was a teaching pro for 15. Honestly have seen one player in a few short years get down to under 5 cap. Most of what I read on line is false; with false scores, gimmees, many mulligans etc. You're either very naturally gifted or a good storyteller.
I'm off a 3.5, hope to get under 2.5 this year...I'll be 70 this summer and total drives up to 250, but hit 80% of fairways. My putting is very good, main improvements I'm working on is around the greens to get more up and downs, and better iron play from 140 in, and really working on 60 yards and in.
I feel like you should have a “results not typical” warning like the old Slim Fast ads 😂
play easy courses for a year, get something you can sell on the you tube.
Great tips, subscriber earned
I know I’m coming to this video late, but to say you had 19 subscribers when you made this, the video quality (editing, engagement, etc.) is incredible
With a 6 iron carrying almost 200 Yards it should be just normal to break 80. It would have been more interesting how you achieved that super distance without lessons.
Tip #1- be born a genetically gifted athlete.
Been playing ‘seriously’ since 2016 … you hit your 7 iron further than my driver 😂…. On a serious note, I’m a 22 and my goal this year (2025) is to get down to a consistent 16 … my heart tells me that I’ve probably got to be playing 3-4 time a week? Nice video buddy … oh and yeah and Harvey Penick always said “no gimmes! … it’s the only way to improve” Subbed … 😊
I’ve just watched this and it’s brilliant. Some really great advice and pointers
Mate you are absolutely full of it.❤❤❤
Nice to see, but you talk to much.
265 carry with driver …. Then 170 with a 7 iron. Surely you should be 300 plus with driver.
Thanks for the video, some great tips. I just started playing again after almost 2 decades away from it. My estimated handicap is 20-25 after 6 rounds of actually keeping score. I'm shooting in the mid to high 90's right now. Got my drives straightened out and my irons are pretty good, but still miss GIR more often than not. I'm going to try your suggestions on chipping and putting on my next outing.
down to a 5 HC in 2 years!! wow what is the secret ?
Kirkland balls are shite, good only for water hazards
Great videos, don't know why you stopped!
Jack, do you find you don't release the club how you would like to? Your swing, like mine, seems to be this way...I score regardless, but it's my last swing fault if you will.
I believe its very possible to get down to 11 handicap in 6 months. It all depends on your natural ability to make adjustments. Great video
This is awesome bud. I started 6 months ago and I’ve hit around 25000 balls since then and I’ve gone from a 35 handicap to now a +4.4 handicap and I’m still very ignorant on a lot of parts of the game of golf
Great video, cheers
He puts great
You must be a natural born international level athlete if you went from 30 handicap to 11 handicap in 6 months without a single coaching session. It’s just unbelievable and impossible for most normal people.
I have HCP 21 and I’m 15yo. Most boys in my age are chilling at HCP 8 or lower. I play often but I don’t know how to get down. But this Video helped me a lot
Handeling a 3 iron after xxx month is a challenge…
What helped me early was realising tee boxes aren't aligned to the fairway at all. I used to set up like it was a driving range, assuming it'd point me in a good direction, but where I play they're often aligned way into the trouble
Alignment is tricky. If you're not aligned properly, hitting a good shot is almost lucky.
lol just do what the guys at my club do. Only post your good scores. 😅 they play 4 days a week yet when you look at their handicap they only have 9 scores posted for the season and it’s only their best score. Then go around talking about being a 2.8 😂
im a 30 handicap but majority of those comes from bad tee shots and bad iron shots. Im only good about 100 yards and in, including my putting. Also, 150 out with my 7 iron.
Wow. A handicap of 5 within 12 months of starting golf as an adult sounds wildly unrealistic. Maybe you’re a professional or college level athlete in another sport and maybe you would’ve been a PGA caliber player had you started when you were 8 years old. Outside of these scenarios, an adult beginner having a 5 handicap within a year of starting golf just sounds like nonsense.
30 HC 170 carry 8I, right.
Why is that hard to believe lol. I can hit an 8i 170 and my handicap is 30. Sometimes I break 100. Started 2 years ago but I only golf once a month
Quickest tip that has helped me to slash my handicap. Learn to draw the ball with every club. Game changer
Enjoyed this, gonna hit up your newer videos too :)
Will you continue to post new content or is this done for you?
How much did you play in your first 6 months of playing golf?
Still worse than Biden
8i carries 170 and then 9i carries 140? I think you have your distances all messed up.
So many people talking shit in the comments but everything this guy is saying is true
That bit in the trees resonated so hard 😂 i scuffed a shot intobthe trees last round and the temptation of going through to cut the dogleg was so big....the 6 shots it took to get out were proof that you have the right pov 🤣
I am from hdcp 54 to handicap 11 in one year is that good ??
Does it require to get fitted in order to lower down handicap?
I’m also a 5 hcp on 18Birdies after putting in some fake scores. It only took me 10 mins to go from a 12 to a 5!!!
How many times a week do you (i) practice (ii) go to the range (iii)play on a course? + Still take lessons?
So getting better is possible? I've been about an 18 handicap for a decade.
Swing u is not a real handicap
49 years old Playing since Iv been 10years old Not a pro, never wanted to progress As a junior player I was NEVER off the golf course, every evening after school, every weekend and every day in school holidays It took me 6/7 years to get to 3 handicap on the old system You lost me after the 1st tee shot to the left and the ball been played in the right tree line for the 2nd Sorry but I don’t believe it, and the play you are doing certainly isn’t a 5 handicap
you're a very exceptional beginner player,😀 if without any lessons, your average 7i carry is 185 yards and straight ...what is your 7i and driver club head speed?....my high ( 30 ) handicap numbers are mostly from " wasted " shots in my round...by wasted, I mean hitting too many thin or fat......
Dream on.
wait a minute here. you started gofling a couple years ago and you hit your 8 iron 170 and your 7 iron 185??!!? so you started golfing a couple years ago, after taking a number of years off after playing since you were a kid right?
I started playing 18 weeks ago and I’ve hit my 7 iron 170. It usually goes 140-150. If you’re crazy and you practice every day it’s possible. I think it’s more important to just do straight shots tho. If I hit it far and it goes off doesn’t really matter I’m putting more work on myself. If I can hit it shorter but it get it straight down the fairway it’s better.
You started at 30 hcp, impressive.
I hope you upload again this season. I love your videos 😌
just found this guy hope he comes back
